Plans and directs marketing of organization's products and services by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. Establishes strategic marketing plans to achieve corporate objectives for products and services.;

Job Description:
Sr. Product Manager of Seasonings is responsible for overseeing the product portfolio, and taking specific action to ensure that financial objectives are met. This position will also support and implement initiatives to promote business growth. Activities will include strong interaction and close communication with Product Development, Production and Supply, and other support functions

Job Duties:

  1. Monitors and assesses business, identifies and provides recommendations as to the initiatives to improve business performance to include product line robustness and gross margin results.
  2. In collaboration with the Director of Sales and Commercial Development, develops, implements and updates a competitive pricing strategy. Manages pricing for new and existing products on an on-going basis to meet financial objectives and gain/maintain business.
  3. Seeks, identifies, and recommends options to rationalize and optimize product line, e.g. formula optimization, SKU rationalization, etc.
  4. In collaboration with Product Supply team, oversees, monitors, and updates floorstocks and floorstock agreements on a continual basis to ensure inventory levels accurately reflect customer demand and timing for product(s).
  5. Drives internal process to ensure accurate and timely scale-up of new products, and initiation of new business.
  6. Works with Marketing Manager and Director of Sales and Commercial Development to develop market objectives, product line direction, and development of growth.
  7. Supports, maintains and monitors product launch plans.
  8. Collects, evaluates and provides team with competitive analysis.
  9. 25% - 30% travel required

Education/Experience:
B.S. in Food science or business with a minimum of 5 years experience in Product Management or similar role with an industrial food ingredient company, preferably in Seasonings. Strong organizational and prioritization skills, highly motivated, results oriented and customer focused. Must possess the following: Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, specifically database management. Strong written and verbal skills (English) are a requirement.

Requires 7-10 yrs in a sales executive role with heavy emphasis on conceptual selling vs selling a specific product for the shelf. Background preferably with major food ingredients company and/or ideally a seasoning company that sells/partners with other food processors.

An individual with only sales experience involving consumer food products for grocery shelves will not be considered. However, an individual with some branded-sales background involving baking/snack foods, in addition to strong private-label sales, can certainly be fit. 

Must be a progressive, strategic business leader capable of building a high performance sales team. And capable of developing the vision and direction for the Company’s sales department. Ideally someone that is able to demonstrate a successful track record in this role throughout their career.

This position develops and executes marketing plans for the Prepared Foods portion of the retail deli product portfolio. This person will also manage the bulk lunchmeat complex for the Deli Foods Group.

Develops, implements, and communicates brand marketing plans to meet approved volume and profit objectives and to accomplish long-term strategic growth. These plans include advertising, promotion, and pricing components. Develops and introduces new product and line extension opportunities. Works closely with other members of the Meat Products division and various functional representatives such as Research & Development, Operations, Accounting, Purchasing, Market Research, Business Development, and Sales to assure coordination of projects. Works with our advertising agency to develop and implement advertising plans and sales training materials for assigned products. Monitors product integrity and quality standards to assure that all aspects of product and packaging conform to requirements.

Education/Experience:
Candidate will have a foodservice or deli background and understand the cost per serving sales model. This person will also have at least three years of sales experience in the retail or foodservice area.
