Duties and Responsibilities
- Forecasts product demands according to season, needs, selling
price, promotions, etc.
- Reviews historical sales trends and marketing, sales and financial
projections to provide accurate product forecasts including forecasts
for product discontinuances
- Compiles various reports regarding inventory levels, depletions
schedules, days-on hand, forecast performance, and other sources
of information that support the company’s Sales and Operation
Planning efforts
- Communicates with all effected parties within the business
and with trading partners regarding changes in product forecasts
- Participates in the development, maintenance and improvement
of statistical forecasting methods, tools, processes and procedures
- Provides training and direction to other people involved in
the forecasting process
- Ability to work with and motivate people from various disciplines

Education/Experience:

Manage Mixing and Baking Operations, Raw Material Storage and

Manages the work activities of all processing department employees

processing hours, and minimize equipment downtime. Ensures that
fulltime or temporary staffing is in place in quantities necessary
to handle daily processing needs of all shifts within the direct

Provides performance feedback to processing staff through daily
interaction, weekly team meetings, quarterly performance reviews,
and as-needed performance improvement plans. Trains and ensures
compliance by processing employees on all internal and OSHA-required
safety procedures and requirements, as well as GMP’s, HACCP,
process requirements, and proper equipment operation.
Reviews department performance from all shifts. Assures that all
production, materials usage and labor hours are reported accurately
by the processing staff. Documents processing line and personnel
performance, tracks performance to standards, investigates and takes
action to correct unfavorable variances or less than desired product
quality, and implements improvements to enhance performance and
achieve/exceed standards.
Explores new methods, equipment and process improvements, and makes
recommendations on purchases of equipment and services to Vice President,
Manufacturing. Serves as primary liaison, along with the Director
of Engineering and the Maintenance Mgr., with processing equipment
manufacturers and service providers. Assists Director of Engineering
& Maintenance Manager with processing equipment installations
and major equipment changes as needed. May coordinate activities
of outside contractors performing work on processing equipment;
Purchases non-inventoried processing supplies; collaborates with
Maintenance Manager on determining the necessary inventory level
of processing equipment parts; collaborates with Purchasing Manager
and R&D on the testing of new ingredients; Provides Maintenance
Mgr. with information on processing equipment repair & maintenance
issues; Collaborates with QA & Sanitation Manager to ensure
that processing performance is in compliance with GMP, HACCP, FDA,
OSHA, customer, designated processing profile/product design and
any other requirements. Ensures process control checks are conducted
as required. Performs GMP and food safety departmental self-audits
as required under company policy.
Education/Experience:
Engineering, Food Science or Business degree beneficial. Analytical
thought process necessary. Bilingual (Spanish speaking) a plus.
5+ years of manufacturing experience in the food or consumer products
industry; Experience leading in a team-based culture; Lean Manufacturing
or Continuous Improvement experience; Highly motivated, results
focused and able to handle multiple priorities concurrently; Process
oriented. Can put a system in place to prevent future issues.

Responsibilities include:
- Coordination of the monthly close in order to ensure timely

The Manager of Warehousing and Material Handling is accountable

MAJOR REQUIREMENT:
Must be hands on person with experience handling an ERP systems,
such as SAP or People Soft.. Must have an understanding of multiple
raw materials. Currently 2000 raw materials daily and 2200 finished
SKU’s. Must be capable of handing the complexity – 100
finished products to the production floor, with as many as 65 raw
materials going into each one.
Critical: Timing. Getting material to the right place for several
different products. Must be very good with receiving and shipping
to customers. 30-40 TRUCKS PER DAY.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides strategic and tactical leadership to the Receiving
and Shipping functions. Overall responsibility for the compajy’s
physical warehouses on and off site.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Ensure all areas
of responsibility are prepared for internal or external GMP audits
at any time.
- Ship all orders on time, in full, and error free. Coordinate
all customer orders and allocations of over 2000 raw materials
between three company warehouses.
- Responsible for the physical movement of material within our
facilities, assuring timely material arrivals to meet the production
schedule.
- Ensure Inventory Record Accuracy (IRA) and optimal utilization
of warehouse spaces.
- Ensure timely and accurate receipt of all incoming materials.
- Fully understands the flow of all processes and equipment in
all departments including the AS400.
- Ensure all personnel are trained properly in their respective
area, and cross-trained in other related positions within the
department, including HAZMAT as necessary.
- Work with Human Resources group to maintain full staffing and
track adherence to all company Personnel Policies and departmental
procedures. Takes appropriate actions to correct deviations. Writes
annual and approves performance reviews of all reports.
- Maintain communication lines and interface with various functions,
as needed, especially Business Support, Quality Control, Purchasing,
Operations and outside logistics functions.
- Maintains various reports, including monthly personal objectives,
customer service Non-conformities, monthly receiving and shipping
metric, as well as daily feedback for any shipping/receiving issues

Job Description:
Seeking individual to manage either day or night shift overseeing
Processing, Packaging , and Shipping/Receiving Departments. Requires
good sense of process flow with a customer focus and the ability
to see the whole process versus just the part. Able to focus on
costs, efficiency, controls, and manage by KPI’s. Requires
process control understanding and ability to set up process control
achievement standards.
Individual must have previous supervisory/management expertise
with managing and leading supervisors and managers. Should be a
strong leader, creative thinker, open to ideas. A good communicator
with a history of building teams training and development.. Must
have effective communication skills necessary to have their people
become engaged in the process and identifying solutions. Also must
be able to hold staff accountable and have wisdom to know when to
coach and when to discipline. Individual must be promotable to plant
manager.

B.S. Degree/3-5 years

Description
Dynamic, challenging and highly rewarding opportunity to join
operations management team for a national branded $500MM USDA processed
foods manufacturer and distributor. Outstanding opportunity to oversee
2 nd shift operations to include production, sanitation, maintenance,
and warehouse. Direct reports include (2) plant superintendents
(15) production supervisors and over 300 union employees.
Ability to demonstrate sense of urgency and be visible and active
throughout the operations. Proven leadership capabilities, successful
record of implementing and overseeing effective management training,
mentoring, coaching and development programs.
Education & Experience:
B.S. degree preferred, but would consider requisite experience to
offset degree requirement. 7-10 years plant management or operations
management experience in a large complex USDA food manufacturing
environment.
Salary
to $100K +minimum 20% bonus

Summary:
This key position is responsible for all functional areas of a particular
plant including the efficient operation of two production shifts,
maintenance, personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation,
scheduling, quality and process improvement. Other responsibilities
include motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to
enhance the skill level of their employees, resolving issues related
to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods, and reviewing cost
and performance data to help determine areas that need improvement.
This position also requires compiling a monthly expense and efficiency
report, promoting and explaining the TQM philosophy to employees,
and obtaining approval and executing all capital improvements for
plants. Other duties include initiating discussion and implementation
of improvement in all phases of production, assisting in identifying,
evaluating, and correcting problems, and performing other responsibilities
as the need arises.
Travel:
6 to 10 trips per year.
Other Requirements:
Proven leadership and problem solving skills.
Education and/or Experience:
Requires broad knowledge of general and technical management.
College degree preferred.
6 to 10 years plant management experience. Extensive knowledge of
plant operations, techniques, and procedures.

Job Description:
Summary
Directs and coordinates activities concerned with production of
company product(s) by performing the following duties personally
or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Confers with management personnel to establish production and
quality control standards, develop budget and cost controls, and
to obtain data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and
delivery dates of products ordered.
- Plans and directs production activities and establishes production
priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and
cost factors.
- Coordinates production activities with procurement, maintenance,
and quality control activities to obtain optimum production and
utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.
- Reviews and analyzes production, quality control, maintenance,
and operational reports to determine causes of nonconformity with
product specifications, and operating or production problems.
- Develops and implements operating methods and procedures designed
to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
- Revises production schedules and priorities as result of equipment
failure or operating problems.
- Consults with engineering personnel relative to modification
of machines and equipment in order to improve production and quality
of products.
- Conducts hearings to resolve or effect settlement of grievances
and refers unresolved grievances for management union negotiations.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages 4-8 subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of
10-25 production employees. Is responsible for the overall direction,
coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory
responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies
and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring,
and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university;
or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
